Shandong Jozzon Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. has been awarded
the reverse osmosis membrane supply contract for the advanced mine water treatment project at China Coal Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.'s Tuk facility in November 2025. This milestone achievement represents
China's first comprehensive deployment of domestic reverse osmosis membranes in a newly constructed mega-scale coal mine water treatment project, successfully breaking the longstanding dominance of imported products in this premium segment and ensuring complete self-sufficiency in critical core technologies.
Strategically located in Tuk Town, Uxin Banner, Ordos City, this pioneering initiative stands as a flagship project
for high-salinity water resource utilization within the Yellow River Basin. It serves as a powerful demonstration for advancing green and low-carbon transformation across the coal mining industry while providing robust infrastructure support for Tuk Industrial Park's sustainable development objectives.
The facility boasts an impressive production capacity of
3,000 m³/h, employing an sophisticated integrated process of "V-filters + Ultrafiltration + Reverse Osmosis." This system transforms high-salinity mine water from the Menkeqing, Muduchaodeng, and Hulusu coal mines - with TDS levels ranging from 3,100 to 16,700 mg/L - into purified water that meets Class III standards according to China's Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002), achieving final salinity levels below 1,000 mg/L. The high-quality effluent serves multiple purposes including process water for local chemical plants, ecological replenishment, and agricultural irrigation, truly realizing
the potential of wastewater as a valuable resource.
Reverse osmosis technology forms the cornerstone of large-scale high-salinity mine water treatment. In a decisive break from convention, the China Coal Tuk project employs all
6,484 reverse osmosis membranes from Jozzon's proprietary product lines. The configuration includes
4,884 JBW-8040-400/34-FR Enhanced Fouling-Resistant RO membranes handling mine water with TDS of 3,100-5,000 mg/L, complemented by
1,600 JSW-8040-440 Fouling-Resistant High-Pressure RO membranes tackling challenging water streams with TDS concentrations of 12,000-17,000 mg/L.
